TRAINING NOTES
- Turnout gear and SCBA (with a spare bottle) is required at all fire trainings unless otherwise advised.
- Each member is required to obtain 12 training hours per year. All members are expected to manage their own hours to ensure they obtain the required 12 hours each year.
- Aside from the training dates above, our training department can offer training to members outside of the regularly scheduled training events (within reason). Please send an email to [email protected], or call at Trevor Graben at 256-608-0304, if you need to schedule a training outside of the regular training dates listed below.
- Training sessions will typically be held at one of our stations, but may held with an automatic/mutual aid department. A mass *communication will be sent if locations change.
- Training may consist of three parts (classroom, skills, test).
- All training events above will be fire-related (hose training, apparatus training, HAZMAT, etc).
- Non-fire-related training may be offered from time to time; however, these training sessions will not count toward your 12 hour requirement. This includes, but is not limited to, medical, first aid, CPR, vehicle rescue/extrication, search & rescue, confined space, high/low angle rescue and landing zone training.
- Stations may have additional rules/requirements that apply to your station. Contact your Chief if you have questions on this.
*Mass communications (emails and text messages) will be sent if any training dates/times are changed. To receive mass communications, please send your name, email, cell phone number and cell phone carrier name (i.e. Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.) to [email protected] or call at Trevor Graben at 256-608-0304.
